Frequently Asked Questions

How long will I wait for an appointment?

The doctors look at all referrals and prioritise the most urgent. You can ask to be put onto the waiting list for a cancellation.

Do you bulk bill?

This is a privately billing practice and payment is expected on the day. We offer a discount for those with a health care card and veterans affairs.

Do you offer telephone consultations?

We believe that the best medical care is provided with a face to face consultation and prefer not to have telephone consultations unless there are exceptional circumstances. Unfortunately Medicare gives a reduced rebate for phone consultations, so it may cost you more out of pocket.

What’s happens if I don’t have an up to date referral?

If your referral is not up to date you will not receive the full Medicare rebate. It is your responsibility to get a new referral when necessary from your GP although we will do our best to remind you when one is needed. We are happy to accept indefinite referrals for patients who are attending regularly. If you have an indefinite referral and it is over a year since last seen, require a longer appointment or have a new problem, a new referral may be needed.

Can I get a replacement prescription without an appointment?

Yes, if you have been seen recently and the doctor believes it is safe to do so. There may be a fee. Specialised drugs (eg Biologics) always require an appointment.
